Happy Monday, I hope that you are all well and ready for the week ahead. If you haven't yet read last week's Organisation tip, take some time to read it as it links with today's tip. One of the greatest enemies of productivity is procrastination. Procrastination is when we delay or postpone action in doing something. We are all guilty of procrastinating whether it's something as trivial as washing the dishes, ironing, folding up laundry or important tasks such as paying a bill, making an important decision, studying for an exam, completing an important task.
We procrastinate for various reasons out of fear, laziness, insecurity, complacency and the list goes on.
Have you noticed how we often procrastinate things which challenge us, that require us to do something that is outside of our comfort zone? What have you been procrastinating? Perhaps you had a goal to learn something new, to pursue a new career opportunity, start saving, launch a new business, start investing in your health but you have been procrastinating in taking actions to achieve your goals.
The only way to combat procrastination is to simply START. Start learning the skills you desire to have, start applying for the jobs you want, start saving even if it is a small amount, start developing your business idea, start changing your eating habits, start that exercise regime you've bookmarked in your phone for weeks, launch that business idea you have been working on and delaying to launch out of fear of failure or judgement. Don't delay for tomorrow, what you can do today.
Being organised is not something we become overnight, it is an intentional process of developing habits that increase your productivity. I hope today's tip has helped you, if it has share it with someone else. If there are any topics you would like me to cover leave a comment or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Have a productive week.
